What is a professional organizer?

As defined by The National Association of Professional Organizers, (NAPO), "a professional organizer enhances the lives of clients by designing systems and processes using organizing principles and through transferring organizing skills. Professional Organizers help individuals and businesses take control of their surroundings, their time, their paper...and their systems for life."

Using my experience and knowledge, I help clients live better by organizing, prioritizing, systemizing, redesigning, and freeing people from the stuff that weighs them down. I follow the NAPO’s Code of Ethics and have the highest regard for you as a person and your belongings. I am respectful and trustworthy of your privacy. I'm here for you every step of the way.

Get rid of the negative energy and stop wasting your time looking for things. Don’t be a slave to your clutter. Own and enjoy your life!

How do I schedule a session?

Simply call me at 937-267-6189 or email me at michelle@organized-life.com and we'll schedule a time to meet at your home. After I arrive, you will show me the situation in your home first-hand. We'll talk about what's working for you and what's not, what you’d like to see change, and create a plan to break down the project into manageable steps. After the consultation, we'll begin with the room that will make the largest impact, or the area you want to make a change in first. We'll start the hands-on process of sorting your items into manageable categories. We will get rid of unused or unwanted items along the way – but I won’t make the decision for you. I will work with you towards attaining the goal of making your home a place where you feel comfortable, are able to function, and live in the present and future – not the past. Lastly, we will decide the best place to store your items and create a system easy to manage so you can stay organized.

As it didn't take just a day to get unorganized, it may take more than one session to get organized. The number of sessions depends on what you want to get done and the length of time you want to commit to the process. It depends on how quickly you can make decisions, how big the project is, and how committed you are to investing time into the project.

The most important part is that I will help you stay focused - using your organizing time wisely. An Organizing Session is three hours long. Payment is due during each session. For all Organizing Sessions, I will ask that you protect your investment by preparing yourself to be free of interruptions, dress comfortably, be well rested, and have drinks on hand.

What area do you service?

Piqua, Springfield, Xenia, Springboro, Eaton, West Milton, and everywhere in between - I work in and around the Dayton, Ohio area. I will also consider "Weekend Warrior" projects in the Indianapolis or Warsaw, Indiana areas. These projects would consist of my services for the entire day or weekend. Please contact me for details.
